When Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) identified an opportunity to expand access to outpatient oncology services in Southern Massachusetts, it partnered with Sturdy Health, a long-time client of Redgate, to establish a new world-class cancer care clinic within Sturdy’s newly constructed Specialty Care Building. The initiative reflects a shared commitment to bringing world-class cancer care closer to patients, reducing travel burdens, and enhancing access to specialized treatment in a community-based setting.
The project involved the fit-out of approximately 20,000 square feet within an occupied medical office building to create a comprehensive oncology clinic featuring infusion services, exam rooms, pharmacy, phlebotomy, and patient support spaces. The effort required close coordination between two independent healthcare organizations, alignment of differing operational and design standards, and careful integration within an active construction project already underway.
Redgate served as Owner’s Project Manager and strategic advisor, guiding the project from feasibility through design, construction, and occupancy planning. The team led a fast-tracked feasibility process, coordinated governance across both institutions, managed budget and schedule controls, and facilitated decision-making among executive, clinical, operational, and consultant stakeholders. Redgate also helped navigate lease negotiations, regulatory considerations, and procurement strategies to keep the project aligned with the goals of both organizations.
The new clinic provides patients throughout the region with convenient access to advanced oncology care in a modern, patient-centered environment while establishing a scalable model for future regional healthcare partnerships and expansion initiatives.
