Redgate is providing owner’s project management services for Parcel C1, the first commercial building within the transformational redevelopment of the former Volpe Center site in Kendall Square. As part of MIT’s larger mixed-use vision for the district, C1 will introduce state-of-the-art research, innovation, and workplace space alongside publicly accessible open space, retail, and community-focused amenities. The project plays a key role in establishing the character and identity of the broader Kendall Common development, which will ultimately deliver a vibrant mixed-use neighborhood integrating housing, science and innovation uses, retail, and over three acres of public open space. Redgate is leading project delivery efforts on behalf of ownership, coordinating stakeholders through design, permitting, and construction while aligning project objectives with the broader district development strategy. The project requires careful integration with surrounding infrastructure, public realm improvements, sustainability goals, and future phases of development, supporting the creation of a dynamic new destination in one of the world’s leading innovation ecosystems.
